Why would I choose Sports Lab over other Physiotherapy clinics?
- The Sports Lab model of integrated therapy means that our Physiotherapists work hand-in-glove with Elevates team of Massage therapists, Chiropractors, Podiatrists, Acupuncturists, Osteopaths etc. When you visit one of our Physiotherapists in our Sydney city location you know that if your problem can be assisted by including the skills of other therapists then we have the capacity to do that.
- If you have back or neck pain and are not sure whether to see a Physio, a Chiro, an Osteo or a Massage therapist, just book in to see our Physio and after the initial session they will be able to direct you appropriately. No more shopping around for the treatment that best suits your problem – it is all here under the one roof and the different practitioners work together for your benefit.
- Our Physiotherapists work very closely with our Massage therapists. We regularly use Sports labs expert massage therapists as part of a Physiotherapy session. This is another example of how we integrate different therapeutic skills to speed your recovery.
- Sports Lab Physiotherapists are highly skilled in all musculo-skeletal injuries and have particular skills and expertise in sports injuries and back and neck injuries.
- Sports Lab is one of the very few clinics to have McKenzie method Physiotherapists permanently on staff. The McKenzie method is a post-graduate qualification and has been shown to be highly effective in the diagnosis and treatment of back and neck problems.
- Our Physiotherapy Sydney service in the centre of Sydney city is located in the Elevate Performance clinic in Spring Street. This means we are 1 minute from Wynyard station, 2 minutes from Circular Quay and within walking distance of every office in the Sydney CBD.
Do Physiotherapists treat back and neck pain?
Yes absolutely. Physiotherapy is the treatment most trusted by GPs and Medical Specialists for back and neck pain. Furthermore most of our Physiotherapists are trained in the McKenzie method which is highly effective in diagnosis and treatment of back and neck pain. The added advantage at our Physiotherapy Sydney CBD clinic is we can also call on our Chiropractor, Osteopath, Acupuncturist and Massage therapist to assist when required.
What is the McKenzie Method?
The McKenzie method is a specialized post-graduate qualification in the treatment of back and neck pain. In order to qualify as a credentialed McKenzie method practitioner a Physiotherapist undergoes a rigorous process of study, practice and examination. A trained McKenzie practitioner has been shown to be as accurate as an MRI scan in diagnosing the cause of low back problems.
How many Physiotherapy treatment sessions will I need?
This is the “How long is a piece of string?” question. In each case the answer is different depending on your problem its severity and your treatment objectives. However you can rest assured that at Elevate Performance your Physiotherapist will discuss all of these issues with you. Our primary goal is to get you out of pain – fast. Then we will look at any underlying causes of your problem and discuss whether you wish to address those causes and the best ways to do this. We have a philosophy of encouraging you to understand your problem and our treatment methods so that you are an active part in your own recovery. The more active you are in carrying out your part of the treatment protocol the faster recovery you will make.
