Alison Punch - Physiotherapist
Ali is one of those people who make you feel at ease. Her knowledge, skill and personality add up to a well rounded, top notch practitioner. Alison prides herself on her ability to truly listen to her clients needs, understand them and only then customise a treatment plan that is guaranteed to get results.
Where do you come from/ where did you grow up?
Sydney. Born and grew up in the Inner West and apart from a couple of short country stints, have basically never left.
What were your interests growing up?
I spent most of my week and weekends playing or training for Netball. I loved and still do love all things sport related.
What got you into the health industry?
Unfortunately, too many injuries which was ultimately the demise of my netball ambitions. Spending a lot of time at the physio basically sparked my interest in all things sporting and health related.
How would you define optimal health and lifestyle/what is your philosophy?
A balance between exercise, good food, good sleep, and spending plenty of time with family and friends.
What do you try to achieve with your clients/patients?
To give them an honest and accurate assessment of their problem with a focus on long term prevention strategies and if I can’t help, send them to someone that can!
What do you specialise in/ Focus on?
Sporting injuries of all types with a personal interest in knee and ankle injuries. Of particular interest are of course, netball injuries and all types of football injuries.

What makes you different from other practitioners in your field?
Individual approach to every client, ability to recognise my limitations and refer on to other practitioners to optimise management of my clients. I like to think that I approach every person with an open mind, willing to listen to their issues and tailor a treatment approach that is both appropriate and beneficial to them.
What are your interests now/ are you married/ do you have children?
Running and swimming, I tried my hand at my first triathlon this year and am about to start training for my second half marathon. I love food, eating and trying new restaurants. I am also really interested in seeing more of the world at some stage but might stick to house hunting for the moment.
What are your proudest achievements/career highlights?
My netballing achievements are definitely my proudest – playing state league netball for 6 years after multiple knee injuries and 3 surgeries. (Looking back, it probably wasn’t the greatest clinical decision I have made and I’ll probably come to regret my determination to play those extra years following each surgery but I wouldn’t change it for the world!)
I am proud of graduating from uni and hope to commence my Masters in Sports Physio in the near future.
