Louise Jeffrey - Acupuncture
At Elevate we pride ourselves on understanding our clients. After working in a hectic corporate role in London for over fifteen years Louise truly understands the busy professional. Like many great practitioners, the choice to follow their chosen discipline came from a profound personal experience. Louise had this experience after working with an acupuncturist to cure a chronic condition. Being bought up on alternative medicine the philosophies behind eastern medicine rang true and prompted a career change. Louise’s unique approach sees her working with her clients in a partnership, whereby the practitioner and the client are committed to setting goals, the treatment plan and monitoring progress and results. If it is a true one-on-one personal experience you are after, Louise Jeffery is your practitioner.
Interview with Louise Jeffrey
Where do you come from/ where did you grow up?
South Africa
What were your interests growing up?
Swimming, the outdoors and reading.
How would you define optimal health and lifestyle/what is your philosophy?
Health is a state of harmony and balance - physically, energetically and emotionally. Any illness is the body’s way of telling us we need to address an imbalance. My aim is to help you restore this balance through Acupuncture, Nutrition and Lifestyle choices, so as to achieve optimal health.
What do you try to achieve with your clients/patients?
I believe in working in partnership with my clients. Progress is assessed on a regular basis to ensure we are on track to achieving set goals for health, and the treatment plan is modified accordingly, if necessary.
What do you specialise in/ Focus on?
I treat men and women of all ages for various different reasons. I also have a special interest in women’s reproductive health – mainly fertility and pregnancy care.
Qualifications/Education:
BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, University of Portsmouth, UK
Licentiate in Acupuncture, London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, London, UK
Industry Association Member: Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS)
What makes you different from other practitioners in your field?
My approach. I believe that to achieve results; goals have to be set, and a treatment plan followed, with commitment from both practitioner and patient. Progress is assessed on a regular basis to ensure we are on track to achieving set goals for health, and the treatment plan is modified accordingly, if necessary. If I believe that TCM is not or no longer appropriate to help you achieve your health goals, I will refer you to a practitioner (western or alternative) who offers a more suitable treatment.
What are your interests now/ are you married/ do you have children?
My current interests include health and fitness, Tai Chi and Ancient Chinese Philosophy. I have two small children of my own, so I understand the demands of being a parent and working at the same time. I also understand how important it is for the body, mind and spirit to remain balanced, if one is striving to achieve optimal health or to overcome health issues.
